Carrots and Squash and Bananas, Oh My!

Mya has been trying several new foods lately. Carrots went pretty well. After the first bite, she had a look that seemed to say, "Something is wrong with my sweet potatoes." After a few bites though, she was okay with them and finished the whole bowl.





Next, we tried squash. Mya will eat it but it does not seem to be a favorite. She is very vocal when eating sweet potatoes..."Num, num, num." Not so much with the squash.




And then came bananas...This was Mya's first fruit and her first taste of something sweet. Every time she takes a bite of banana, she seems to tense up. I guess she is not used to the sweet taste yet. She likes it better mixed with her oatmeal or rice cereal.





Look at our big girl drinking water out of her sippy cup. She's growing up so fast! Mya LOVES water. She gets so excited and has a big smile every time she sees us get her cup out. Daddy says, "Good girl!" Too cute!

Easter Fun at the Zoo!!

Easter Sunday was such a beautiful day that we decided to get out and enjoy it. We took Mya on her first visit to the zoo! We thought that she might like it since she has really taken an interest in watching the dogs lately.

You could tell Mya was looking at each animal as we showed her and talked to her. She wasn't wiggling around or looking away...she was taking it all in.

This is Mya looking at a running stream. She was fascinated by the streams and waterfalls in the zoo.


Mya did really well for her first visit. We stayed for about an hour and then she was getting tired. We had so much fun together! We plan to go back soon when my family comes to visit. Can't wait!!

Mya's First Easter

Mya had a wonderful first Easter! I was told to post lots-and-lots of pictures!

Apparently, Mya is magic! In the following picture, you will see that the egg is floating...not sure how that happened...all we can say is that she is MAGIC!

The Easter Bunny brought Mya lots of goodies! She got some books (including on of Mommy's childhood favorites: Pat the Bunny), a Cardinals Pujols shirt (cutest thing ever!), a stuffed puppy wearing bunny ears, and a chocolate bunny (you have to get a chocolate bunny in your basket...of course, Mya won't be eating the bunny but I'm sure she would love to share it with Mommy).

S is for Sweet Potatoes

On March 28th, Mya tried sweet potatoes. This was her first vegetable and she loved it! She ate the whole bowl very quickly. Glad we lost the shirt before this meal because we were an orange mess! :)
