First Haircut

It took me awhile to get up the nerve to take Mya to get her first haircut. I think it was because it would be another step in her becoming a "big girl" and not so much a baby anymore. You can see in the pictures below that it wasn't extremely long. She just needed a little trim.

Before:

Mya did so well getting her haircut by Ms. Paula. She sat on my lap to get her bangs trimmed and then stood on my lap to get the sides and back done. Ms. Paula said that Mya did better than many of her adult clients.

After:

So proud of my big girl!!

Sweet 16!!

While we were in Arkansas for Thanksgiving, we were also able to celebrate Savannah's Sweet 16 Birthday with her! I can't believe she is 16!!!

Here is her birthday cake...love it!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We were able to travel to Arkansas to see family at Thanksgiving. It was so much fun to see everyone and spend time together. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Nana(Savannah), Mya and Brody playing together.

Mya and her Ma (Grandma Janie)

Mya and Aunt Didi (Toni)

Mya had lots of fun playing Savannah's piano

So thankful for our wonderful families and for the time we could spend with them!

Happiness is spelled C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E!

Mya chose a Krackel out of her trick or treat candy as her first chocolate experience.

She carefully opened one side of the package and said, "Oh." She then opened the other side and said, "OH!" I think you can tell by the following pictures that she really enjoyed her treat.

Delicious!! However, at the beginning of January, we found out that Mya had an allergy to milk protein so she wasn't able to have these yummy treats...or anything else containing milk. Now that she is getting older though, she seems to be "outgrowing" the allergy so we have been slowly phasing foods back in that contain milk. So far, so good!

Happy Halloween!!

Last year, Mya was about 3 weeks old at Halloween so this was her first year to wear a costume. The obvious choice was to be a puppy dog! I didn't know how she would do in the costume but she never even tried to take her puppy hood off. We had a great time in Arkansas with family and church friends.

Have you ever seen a more precious puppy?

More Birthday Fun!

Of course we celebrated Mya's first birthday again back in St. Louis. We had cupcakes in the shape of a big 1...even though I knew Mya wouldn't touch them or take a bite.

Mama and the sweet birthday girl

Nope...not even a single bite!

Mya did like the plastic cupcake decoration though.

Wow...a basketball hoop! This little girl loves to play "ball ball."

She had to try the bow on, of course.

I think she's already getting the hang of it.

Slam dunk!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Sweet Mya!!
