4 Month Check-up
Mya had her 4 month check-up on Friday, February 12. Everything went really well. Mya weighed 13 lbs 3 ounces and was 24 3/4 inches. The doctor said she is perfectly fine in both height and weight. I asked if she was gaining enough weight and the doctor said since her weight gain is continuing at the same rate and she is in the same percentile as she was at her last visit, she is fine. She had to get 3 shots which broke Mommy's heart! She cried when she got them but settled down pretty quickly. She's a tough little girl! She did pretty well after we got home...cried before bedtime and some on Saturday but Tylenol helped. We go back to the doctor again at 6 months. Here are a few pictures of Mya Friday night after her checkup.

Three Months Old
Mya Jayne turned 3 months old on January 7th. She is so active and such a happy girl. I am constantly amazed at the new things she does! During her third month, Mya really started to focus in and take an interest in her toys and books. She smiles, laughs, and "talks" all the time. She has started to lose some of her hair in the back because she has started rubbing her head back and forth when she gets sleepy or sometimes in her sleep. She still has lots of hair though! :)

Mya is getting so strong. You can see in this picture that she wants to sit up. She tries all the time. She grabs on to our thumbs and pulls herself up to a sitting position. Her back and neck are really strong. She holds her head up very well when she is on her tummy. She rolls over on both sides.

I had to take a picture of Mya's shoes! Baby Keds! Are these not the cutest? These were a gift from Tammy Toler, a friend of ours from church in Paragould.

Oh yes, Mya has discovered her feet. She loves them! When I put socks on her, she kicks her little feet and rubs them around until she gets her socks off.

Mya is a sweetie and such a good girl! We go back to the doctor on February 12th for her 4 month checkup and shots. Mommy is not looking forward to the shots but I can't wait to see how much she has grown when they weigh and measure her! More to come soon!

Mya's First Christmas at Home
After all of our traveling and celebrating with our families, Brad, Mya and I had our family Christmas at our house. We woke up to another snowy white Christmas! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from that morning:
Mya was so happy that morning! So excited to see what Santa brought!

Wow...are all of those for me? :)

These are her cute little Christmas pajamas we got her. They were so soft!

Daddy and Mya...You may not be able to tell, but the snowflakes were so pretty.

Mya Jayne and Mommy

Sam was very interested when we were getting ready to open presents.

Mya really paid attention as we opened each present.

Having a blast opening presents with Daddy! Look at that smile!

Checking out one of her presents from Santa.

Sam is wound up and ready to play!

Gabe was more interested in the Christmas breakfast.

Gracie taking it easy. She enjoyed watching the snow from the back of the couch.

Of course, after such an exciting morning, Mya was so tired. She settled in for her Christmas nap.

So precious!!!

We had a wonderful Christmas together. It was absolutly perfect! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband, a beautiful and healthy baby girl, and three very entertaining dogs!

A White Christmas!
We left Paragould early Christmas morning and drove back to St. Louis for our next family Christmas. The closer we got to St. Louis, the more snow we saw. I was so excited that Mya's first Christmas was a white one!
Mya's Aunt Lisa got her a snowsuit for Christmas so we had to try it out. As we were getting her dressed in it, she kept trying to wiggle around and we were saying, "Ralphie, Ralphie!" (A Christmas Story)

She looked so cute all bundled up!

Sam trying to decide what his next move will be.

If we only had a sled, I'm sure Gabe could pull us around.

I'm not sure, but I think Gracie was catching snowflakes with her tongue.

The boys had a blast running around in the snow.

If you know Gracie, then you know that she was ready to go back inside.

Christmas cuddles with Grandma Jane

Brian and Angiolina opening gifts.

Mya's Great Grandma Mary Jo and Grandpa Don

Mya's cousin Josh, who was home from college

We gave everyone here pictures of Mya too. They seemed to be a hit!

Mya hanging out with Daddy in yet another outfit. It was one of those days where we went through many clothing changes. Good thing she had several Christmas outfits!

Thank you to all of our family in St. Louis for being a part of Mya's 1st Christmas and making it so special. We love all of you!

An Arkansas Christmas
At my Mom and Dad's house, our Christmas morning tradition is to wake up early and have coffee and a big breakfast and open presents together. Here are some of our favorite pictures from Christmas morning 2009.

Mya with Grandma and Grandpa

Even though it was early, Mya had some big smiles for Grandpa!

Mya and her cousin Brody

Mya got so many gifts. This was a baby doll from Grandma and Grandpa.

Savannah and Toni...they might need one more cup of coffee!

Ashley and Allen looking at their calender from Toni. She made us all calenders with family pictures in them. I love mine!

Brody getting a little help from his Uncle Brant.

Mya and Daddy opening presents

Mya had so much excitement she had to take a little Christmas morning nap.

Continuing her nap with Savannah

I love this picture...Mya and Grandma, so sweet.

After naptime, we got ready for our roadtrip back to St. Louis. Mya wore her "My 1st Christmas" outfit and hat. The hat didn't last long but it was so cute!

Before we left Paragould, we stopped by to wish Mamaw a Merry Christmas.

So excited to see each other!

We gave Mamaw pictures of Mya and she loved them.

Even though it was a quick trip, we had such a wonderful time. We were only there Christmas Eve night and Christmas morning but it seemed like we really were able to spend quality time together. I'm so glad we could be there to see everyone and for Mya to spend time with family. Thank you to all of our family in Arkansas for being a part of Mya's 1st Christmas and making it so special. We can't wait to see you all again! We love you!
